Biography
I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education (tenure track) at the University of Salzburg. My research explores how mathematical modelling, data science, and artificial intelligence can contribute to mathematically rigorous, critically reflective, and future-oriented mathematics education.
To this end, I combine subject-matter didactics research with the design and empirical evaluation of digital learning environments, as well as the transfer of research into schools and teacher education. My work focuses on the mathematical foundations of machine learning; data and data quality; modelling processes; and algorithmic decision-making and fairness.
Through CAMMP and KI macht Schule, I develop research-based programmes and resources on mathematical modelling, data literacy, and AI literacy for students and teachers.
