International Workshop on Computational Thinking, Data Science, and AI in K‑12 Mathematics Education

As a member of the Planning Committee for the Workshop and Webinar Series on International Practices in K‑12 Mathematics Education: The Role of Computational Thinking, Data Science, and AI (2025–2026), organized by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), I have been actively involved in shaping an international exchange on the modernization of mathematics curricula worldwide.

The workshop series brings together experts and policymakers to discuss how top-performing countries integrate computational thinking, data science, and AI into their mathematics education systems. It explores how curriculum reforms align with evolving technologies in classrooms, digital learning environments, educational resources, and teaching practices.

In February 2026, I had the opportunity to contribute as an invited speaker at the international NASEM workshop in Washington, D.C. My presentation focused on current developments in the German-speaking context and on research around AI and Data Literacy in mathematics education.

More details about the series and the forthcoming proceedings can be found on the NASEM project page.
